You do not
have to drastically change your lifestyle and eating habits in your quest for
fitness and weight loss. You will have great difficulty keeping up with these
drastic changes in your life. A few small changes in your daily lifestyle
should give you some positive results.
Start with
5 small meals a day instead of your usual 3 big ones. Instead of making the
steak the centerpiece, put small strips of the steak or chicken on a big pile
of salad leaves and fruits instead.
Include
water-rich food in every meal. Meals including soups, salads, tomatoes and
cucumbers let you feel full faster and thus you end up consuming fewer
calories.
Avoid as
much as possible all the white stuff like white rice, white flour or white
sugar. Studies have indicated that people who ate mostly whole grain bread and
brown rice instead of white bread and white rice are less likely to be obese.
Soda and
concentrated fruit juices can be high in sugar and calories. Water is a better
alternative for your body to stay hydrated. Green tea has been shown to raise
metabolic rate as well as speed up fat oxidation. This is due to the presence
of catechins in its leaves. You also get a host of other health benefits from
your cup of green tea.
Designate
a special corner just for having your meals. Do not place snacks or foodstuff
all over the house. Put temptation out-of-the-way.
Changing
eating habits is not enough. You have to include some simple activities too.
Exercise
is not just about lifting weights or doing workouts on an exercise machine.
there is no need to force yourself do any workouts that you do not enjoy doing.
This will not last long enough to see any results.
Fitness
exercise can be boring to some people. However, some simply love to dance and
dancing can be an excellent way to keep fit and lose weight.
Walking
has always been a very popular weight loss activity. There are so many ways to
incorporate walking into your life. Walk to work and back from work if
possible, walk to lunch, walk to the store or supermarket, walk to the gym,
walk your dog or walk in the park.
For those
who prefer working out at home, a home treadmill or an elliptical trainer could
offer a solution to your weight loss plans. Both offer great cardiovascular
benefits as well as an excellent way to burn calories.
